Time to Get FIT!

The pressure of how we look and how much we weigh in today’s society can be overwhelming. We have become obsessed with the outside package so much so that it’s hard to walk past a mirror or store window without casting a glance at our figure and assessing its state of being. Are we too fat? Too thin? Have we developed a pouch in the area that used to be our stomach? Are we hunching? We say things to ourselves like: “That’s it, tomorrow I’m starting back at the gym”, “Okay, from now on I only eat pizza on Sundays”, “No more late night munchies”. You Can Be Pain-Free Naturally

Homeopathic Support for Natural Skin Care

Physical pain is a drag, and I don’t particularly like to feel it. I don’t like to see my friends and family in pain, either. My first instinct is to try and make the pain go away. Fast. Before I became a student of homeopathy, I might have reached for an aspirin when I had a headache. Or rubbed cortisone cream into my muscles after I’d worked out too hard. Either of those over-the-counter (OTC) medicines would bring relief, but would also block the self-healing action of my body. Back then, though, I didn’t really think about the side effects of those OTCs. I just thought about stopping the pain as quickly as possible.

Lap Band Weight Loss Surgery

Lap-band adjustable gastric banding is the latest entrant (approved by the FDA in 2001) in the sphere of surgical treatment of morbid obesity. This procedure induces weight loss by reducing the capacity of the stomach that causes lesser intake of food.

The procedure involves implanting an inflatable silicone band into the abdomen of the patient. This creates a new, small stomach pouch that controls the amount of food the person can consume. This also created an outlet between the rest of the stomach and intestines, which is narrow and leads to longer retention of food in the stomach. The process therefore brings about a feeling of fullness that is retained for a long time due to slow emptying of the stomach pouch. This leads to significant weight loss.

Massage

The beauty of massage is that you can do it yourself and you can do it multiple times every day and that’s how massage is best done.

Always feel around in the muscles for points or places that make you feel good and relaxed. Massage is a mechanical stimulant for the muscles and though it moves the muscles passively, it can be quite effective because it helps to keep the muscles soft and pliable.
Massage movements can help the muscles to twitch if the motor point (nerve muscle meeting point) of the muscle can be found and stimulated mechanically through manual movements. If you can find pleasurable and relaxing points within the muscle, then the massage is able to twitch (contract) these points which are the motor points and the massage will be even more effective in relaxing the muscles.
